A Proud Guy

I am very proud of my family. I also really like fishing but don't get much time for that, oh well. I also like yapping on my amateur radio even though most of the time I just listen.

History has a way of repeating itself

Well I guess Michael just didn't learn his lesson about riding really fast on the road. The second time that he was allowed to ride his bike to school, Micheal took a spill going down a hill coming home from school and blooded up his head which was fixed by stitches just above his eye.
Well Michael has moved on to bigger (not better) things. Saturday morning, he riding in one of his bike races in the major metropolitan cities know as Greenville when one of the riders just ahead of him got his front wheel clipped by another rider. Well the person directly ahead was able to steer clear but Michael didn't have too much time to react and his bike hit part of the bike of the rider that went down. At that point, his bike stopped but he didn't and did a spectacular somersault over the handlebars and landed on his shoulders then his back. His feet were still attached to the pedals by means of clips which allowed him to catapult his bike some 15 feet from where he landed. This really scared him and began moving his fingers and toes.
Well he didn't wait to be checked out and sat up and then managed to climb into the "spare wheel" truck that had seen the accident and stopped to help. Anyway to make a long story short and to allow him to enjoy re-telling his glory, he went to the ER in Greenville and had x-rays and was told that he broke his collarbone in four places. Some friends that also was at the race shuttled him home and there he has been keeping the ice on his shoulder and popping pills in order to live with the pain. Now I have to mention that his wife is taking very good care of him and waiting on him and doing whatever would make him feel better. Thanks Heather.
